Job Description:
We are looking for a highly talented Maintenance Technician to join our team. We’re seeking a hardworking professional who likes meeting challenges and surpassing client expectations. Your chief responsibilities will include interpreting designs, monitoring machinery, and assessing welded components.
To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will also have a steady hand and outstanding attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
- Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
- Maintain and repair all machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
- Proven experience in fabrication & machining; lathe, mill, and welding machinery experience
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Good with analytical math abilities and capable to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
- Strong communication skills and ability work independently and with other team members and able to follow instructions with clear attention to detail
- Background in chemical manufacturing & liquid packaging is
- Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
- Experience with PVC plumbing
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding
- Experience with powered hand tools (saws, drills, grinders, etc.)
- Ability to travel for prolonged periods (2 weeks to 8 weeks with breaks in between)
- Experience with construction equipment (forklifts, scissor lift, boom, etc.)
