Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group, is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support growth within our Security & Low Voltage business. This is designed to provide hands-on experience in lead , marketing collaboration, and industry engagement, while developing foundational sales and business development skills.
This position is ideal for a motivated, relationship-driven student or early-career professional interested in technology and business development.

Key Responsibilities
Lead & Pipeline Development
- Support the qualification of inbound and outbound leads generated through marketing and business development efforts
- Assist with outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other platforms to identify customer needs and project opportunities
- Research and target key industries, including commercial real estate, healthcare, education, multi-family, industrial, retail, and government
- Gain exposure to opportunities related to:
- Access Control Systems
- Video Surveillance (CCTV)
- Intrusion Detection Systems
- Structured Cabling
- Audio/Visual Systems
- Network Infrastructure
- Smart Building Technologies
- Help schedule and coordinate discovery meetings for Account Executives and Sales Engineers
- Maintain accurate and consistent activity tracking within CRM systems (training provided)
Industry Engagement & Event Representation
- Support the team at trade shows, networking events, association meetings, and industry functions
- Assist in building relationships with prospective clients, partners, and industry professionals
- Observe and help gather market intelligence and identify emerging trends
- Provide support for event planning and coordination to enhance brand visibility
Marketing Collaboration & Content Development
- Partner with marketing to support campaigns promoting Security & Low Voltage solutions
- Contribute ideas and assist with content creation for:
- Podcasts and webinars
- Case studies and success stories
- Blog posts and LinkedIn content
- Video and digital media initiatives
- Help provide field insights to strengthen messaging and campaign effectiveness
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to support innovative marketing strategies
Brand Representation & Industry Awareness
- Develop a foundational understanding of Convergentz solutions and industry trends
- Represent the brand professionally in both virtual and in-person interactions
- Learn how to communicate value propositions and support follow-up with prospective clients
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in technology, security systems, or low-voltage solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable engaging in both virtual and in-person environments
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn technical concepts and sales processes
- Exposure to sales, marketing, internships, or campus leadership roles
- Interest in security integration, low voltage, IT infrastructure, or construction-related industries
- Familiarity with LinkedIn or digital engagement tools
- Interest in content creation, social media, or marketing initiatives
- Basic understanding of B2B sales processes
