Day to day as a Safety Specialist
As a Safety Specialist at Barrett Petfood, your day-to-day expectations will revolve around fostering a culture of safety and compliance. You will conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. What You'll Do

Support safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards

Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments

Assist in leading safety training programs for employees across the plant

Investigate incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions

Track and analyze safety data and trends to drive continuous improvement

Support emergency response planning and drills

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to strengthen safety practices
- Be an active leader on safety committee
- Ability to be an onsite first responder
What We're Looking For

Experience: Previous experience in safety, EHS, or manufacturing (food or pet food but not required)

Knowledge: Basic understanding of OSHA regulations, safety compliance, and incident investigation
