Safety is of the utmost priority and importance here at The Porter Co. We are currently searching for a Safety Manager who can join our reputable team and uphold the high standards of safety we've set throughout the organization. The Safety Manager must be intuitive and able to take on difficult situations with a positive outcome. This individual will need to be very effective in the facilitation of information. You will need to be able to handle a variety of assignments at one time with an equal sense of urgency. This position requires someone who is detail oriented, self-sufficient and able to follow through.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Perform continued active health and safety audits and inspections to on-going projects and job sites to identify, develop, implement, and promote OSHA, Porter Co., State, and Federal programs for comprehensive employee protection.

Must be able to evaluate working conditions and operational practices; routinely inspects work methods, environment, and equipment to identify and correct health and safety hazards as well as other violations.

Ensure conformance with established occupational health and safety issues, rules, and requirements.

Recommend and assist with all health and safety issues and investigate possible health and safety regulations, personal injuries, and property damages. Compile and analyze data to identify the severity of accidents and hazards, then recommend corrective and remedial action.

Solid and sound decision making skills.

Responds to emergencies with urgency and takes appropriate action as defined through our emergency planning.

Must be able to adapt and change priorities quickly to help support project managers, superintendents, and field personnel.

Must possess excellent communication skills

 

Job requirements:

Must have own transportation to travel to different job sites.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

2 – 5 yrs experience in construction

Experience in the mechanical contractor industry a plus

Certifications a plus but not required: OSHA 30, OSHA 510, OSHA 500, CSHO, CSP or CHST

Bi-Lingual Spanish/English a plus but not required

Pay is commensurate with experience
