Safety Coordinator / Site Safety Specialist

General Purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Coordinator / Site Safety Specialist to lead and manage safety initiatives at our Trenton, NJ facility. You will be responsible for implementing safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company policies, and fostering a strong culture of safety across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce safety risks and promote safe work practices

  • Build a culture of safety by providing guidance, training, and support to employees at all levels

  • Conduct or coordinate training on OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, PPE, and other safety topics

  • Perform facility and equipment inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments

  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries; identify root causes and implement corrective actions

  • Support and manage return-to-work activities and injury reporting

  • Provide coaching and mentorship on safe work behaviors and risk mitigation

  • Evaluate and improve existing safety programs and assist with long-term safety planning

  • Maintain inventory of safety supplies and ensure proper use of PPE

  • Stay up-to-date on OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other regulatory safety requirements

  • Other safety-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)

  • 3–5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and regulatory safety standards

  • Ability to conduct training, coach employees, and influence at all levels

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Bilingual skills a plus (not required)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs. while conducting inspections

  • Comfortable working in manufacturing/industrial environments with potential exposure to heat, cold, noise, and moving machinery

  • Must wear PPE as required (safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, etc.)
