The Safety Coordinator supports one or more distribution centers within a geographic region and helps implement Williams-Sonoma’s safety programs. This role focuses on developing and improving SOPs, delivering training, conducting inspections, and ensuring high-quality investigations in the internal safety event management system. The Safety Coordinator also owns select safety programs, supports risk assessments, and partners with Operations, HR, and Maintenance to drive sustainable safety improvements across assigned facilities.
The Safety Coordinator position is located in Olive Branch, MS.
You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will....
- Lead the development and rollout of safety SOPs and standardized work processes across assigned facilities
- Deliver engaging safety training, including new-hire , PIT training, refresher courses, and targeted training based on trends
- Conduct safety audits, daily walk-throughs, and hazard identification activities; ensure timely follow-up and verification of corrective actions
- Lead or support safety event investigations, ensuring accurate root cause identification, effective corrective actions, and complete documentation in the internal safety management system
- Maintain required safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation
- Own select safety programs (e.g., PIT compliance, emergency preparedness, chemical management, ergonomics, or safety committee processes) and ensure consistent execution across assigned facilities
- Analyze safety data and incident trends to identify emerging risks and recommend proactive actions to site leadership
- Conduct risk assessments and participate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews for new equipment, processes, or layout changes
- Partner with Operations, HR, and Maintenance to drive corrective actions and ensure sustainable safety improvements
- Coach supervisors and associates on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and the consistent application of WSI safety policies
- Lead site-level safety committee meetings and champion local safety initiatives
- Assist with compliance requirements related to OSHA, fire protection, PIT operations, emergency preparedness, and other applicable regulations

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR 2+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments with defined safety responsibilities
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910) and fundamental root cause analysis methods
- Strong communication and coaching skills; comfortable with a high level of floor presence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality involving security matters, incident details, and personnel issues
We prefer some of these qualities as well....
- At least 3 years of safety experience, or 5+ years in warehouse/manufacturing roles with increasing safety responsibilities
- PIT trainer or PIT operator experience
- Experience developing SOPs or training content
- Experience with incident management systems
- Ability to analyze event data, new processes, or equipment for safety risks and conduct job hazard/safety analyses
- Experience in workers’ compensation case management
