Safety/Compliance Specialist - LM

A local company is seeking a Safety & Compliance Specialist to join their team. This is a first shift position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and audit Driver Qualification Files and Motor Vehicle Records
• Ensure up-to-date CDL, medical certificates, and other required driver documentation
• Prepare for and assist in DOT audits, inspections, and related reporting
• Stay current with DOT/FMCSA regulations and implement necessary change to internal policies
• Monitor driver behavior, investigate safety events accidents and near-misses using vehicle telematics data, and analyze trends in safety data to reduce risk and improve driver performance
• Manage all vehicle-related insurance claims from incident reports
• Serve as liaison between drivers, insurance providers, repair shops, legal representatives, and document and maintain a centralized log of all claims and supporting materials
• Ensure completion and review of Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports, oversee vehicle maintenance compliance with DOT and internal schedules, and verify proper documentation, decals, and permits for all vehicles
• Handle vehicle titling, registration, and renewals as needed and maintain internal records of all vehicle title and registration documentation
• Generate and submit safety and compliance reports and track driver safety and compliance metrics and recommend improvements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have at least 3 years of experience in DOT Compliance, fleet safety, or transportation industry
• Must have a strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT Regulations
• Must have experience with fleet titling and registration processes
• Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with digital compliance tools a plus
• Must have experience using Fleet Management and Safety platforms (Geotab, Excelerator, or similar
• Must be able to pay a high attention to details along with excellent organizational skills
• Must have strong communication skill with the ability to coach drivers constructively
• Must be comfortable handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a solid work history with no attendance issues
