RWE - Port Engineer

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assess port infrastructure and its suitability for offshore wind projects.
  • Identify and sense check needs for port upgrading works such as quay reinforcement works, seabed strengthening for jack-up vessel and enhancement of ground bearing capacities.
  • Define, develop and review port logistics concepts and contracts.
  • Review technical as well as contractual documents related to the tendering and selection process of marshalling ports.
  • Support preparations of Port Design / Upgrade Scope of works


Essential skills:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent in the field of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related areas
  • Professional experience in the field of civil/structural engineering, including:
  • Structural analysis of quays for different load combinations including checks of bending moments, anchor forces, deformations
  • Bearing capacity calculations
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Interest in project management and its interface to engineering
  • Ability to balance technical and commercial interests and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Use of AutoCAD or equivalent software
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Intercultural communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong team player, self-starting and highly motivated
  • Fluent spoken and written English
