Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Rotor System Engineering Manager to lead the design, integration, and testing of rotor systems across advanced aircraft platforms. This is a critical leadership role with ownership over rotor control components and system-level development in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering for rotor control systemsincluding blade, hub, and control subsystemsacross multiple aircraft programs.
- Oversee the full rotor system lifecycle: conceptual design, modeling, analysis, prototyping, testing, and certification.
- Drive collaboration across engineering disciplines (Drive Systems, Flight Sciences, Airframe, Flight Controls, etc.) to ensure seamless integration.
- Direct rotor system analysis, 3D/2D CAD documentation, and component specification development.
- Manage system-level DFMEA, test planning, execution, and failure analysis.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ensure all rotor system deliverables meet safety, reliability, performance, and cost targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required; Masters .
- 15+ years of experience in rotor system design and analysis for rotary-wing or tiltrotor aircraft.
- Expert in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA V5/V6, or 3DEXPERIENCE).
- Strong foundation in aerodynamics, dynamics, and structural integration of rotor systems.
- Demonstrated ability to translate Tier 0 air vehicle requirements into Tier 1 rotor system specs.
- Familiarity with ground, flight, and Iron Bird test campaigns.
- Knowledge of composite blade design, elastomeric bearings, and machined/forged components.
- Proficient in PLM systems (SolidWorks PDM, 3DEXPERIENCE).
- Must be a U.S. and eligible to obtain a security clearance.
