Job Description
Rolling Stock EV and Project Engineer\n\nThe Rolling Stock Engineers are responsible for all aspects of rolling stock engineering to support fleet availability, technical/safety assurance, projects and new fleet introduction . Delivering EV projects/engineering support plus projects on legacy Bombardier fleet (B2007) such as overhaul, door upgrades, remote monitoring.\n\nAccountabilities\n\n * The EV and Project Rolling Stock Engineer will be responsible for the following:\n\n * Delivering technical changes through the DLR assurance (CAP) process, including assuring changes as a Designated Competent Person.\n\n * Commercial and Project management of rolling stock work and suppliers. This will involve attending supplier’s facilities/factories as required, both in the UK and Europe.\n\n * Implement predict and prevent activities to improve fleet availability and reliability, including producing scopes of work.\n\n * Lead technical compliance and safety assurance of rolling stock activities, including condition assessments, report writing and auditing.\n\nESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS\n\n * Higher level engineering qualification(s).
Relevant Engineering degree (or similar), accredited by the IET/I.MechE. Other qualifications considered with relevant experience.\n\n * C.Eng. or I.
Eng accreditation (or actively working towards) desirable.\n\n * Post qualification experience in a Technical Rolling Stock Engineering environment essential.\n\n * Knowledge of rolling stock technical compliance and safety assurance requirements essential.\n\n * Knowledge of ROGS and understanding of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) essential.\n\n * Good knowledge of Engineering Vehicles essential.\n\n * Good IT skills – MS Office, RS Computer systems essential.\n\nThe job holder will have sufficient and rounded knowledge of all Rolling Stock systems.\n\nPlease call for immediate interview
