By afternoon, youre collaborating with welding, machining, and IT teams to roll out a new PLC logic update and documenting the SOP that will keep everything running smoothly.

Role overview
Reporting to the Director of CIP and Automation, youll drive automation across our manufacturing operations while using production data to guide decisions and measure results.
What youll do
- Analyze current production workflows to uncover automation opportunities and reduce manual effort.
- Design, implement, and optimize automated systems (robotics, PLCs, process controls) for safety, reliability, and throughput.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics and software into legacy and new equipment.
- Run feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses to prioritize automation projects.
- Author and maintain process documentation: work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and tune parameters for peak efficiency.
- Train plant personnel and offer ongoing support on new automated processes.
- Track industry trends and best practices in industrial automation and controls.
- Build dashboards and reports that visualize KPIs and progress over time.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in production data to recommend actionable improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to execute data-driven continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and automation-first thinking.
What you bring
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Demonstrated success converting manual processes into automated solutions.
- Manufacturing environment experience is strongly .
- Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, robotics, and process control systems.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD and simulation software.
- Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Proficient in: Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
