Robot Welding Programmer

Beloit, WI
$70,000 – $85,000 (Based on Experience)
Full-Time | Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)


About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Robot Welding Programmer to join a growing manufacturing engineering team within a highly automated fabrication environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with robotic weld systems, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

You’ll play a key role in supporting production, improving weld quality, and helping expand automation capabilities.


What You’ll Do

  • Create, modify, and optimize robotic welding programs
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Design, test, and improve fixtures and tooling
  • Adjust programs to improve cycle time, weld quality, and throughput
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and mechanical issues
  • Support production schedules and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives


Required Qualifications

  • Welding certificate, technical degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 1+ years of robotic welding programming experience
  • Experience operating robotic weld cells
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Background in sheet metal fabrication and welded assemblies
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills


Qualifications

  • Experience with ABB robotic systems
  • PLC familiarity (ABB )
  • Experience with fixture/tooling design
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D software)
  • Experience transitioning manual welding processes to automation
  • Root cause analysis and process improvement experience

  • Chemical processing
  • Food-grade production
  • Oilfield operations


Ideal Background

Candidates coming from:

  • Tank trailer or pressure vessel manufacturing
  • Heavy fabrication environments
  • Industrial equipment or trailer manufacturing


What This Role Is NOT

This role is not a fit for candidates with:

  • Only manual welding experience (no robotics)
  • No programming experience
  • Limited exposure to industrial automation environments
