Job Description:
Opportunity to join as a R&M Maintenance, Turnaround, and Construction (MRTA) Project Support Engineer under a 2 years contract for the first Deepwater Sour Gas development in Sarawak, the Rosmari and Marjoram fields to support mechanical work pack development, coordinate technical interfaces between asset execution and engineering teams, assist in system completion efforts, and ensure timely, technically sound handover of MTAC deliverables. To manage MTAC optimization of: -
Offshore: RMP Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI) process from subsea and dry tree systems to export pipeline with chemical injection, MEG injection, metering, and power system
IRF: Inlet receiving facility gas from R&M Offshore, separation, stabilization, compression and mercury removal prior to gas sweetening processing and gas/condensate metering.
GPU: Gas Processing Unit with high H2S acid gas removal, stabilization, sulphur recovery/palletization, and MEG system for export of sweet gas and sulphur to customers
Utilities: Steam system, boilers, service water, instrument airs, nitrogen, and other utilities system for R&M OGP.
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering fresh graduate, must be 26 years old and below as of 31 Dec 2025
2. Strong interest in operations, maintenance, and turnaround activities.
3. Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
1. or academic exposure to oil & gas, petrochemical, or sour gas plant operations
2. Innovation digitalization initiatives to enhance, optimize or/and improve value delivery mindset, e.g. via AI-powered platforms, PowerBI, etc.
3. Willing to take this role under a 2 years contract
Dimensions
1. The incumbent will be based at Bintulu OGP Office / Naim Office (temporarily) to support the current Commissioning, Start Up, Operation and Maintenance of OGP. Reports to R&M TA & MM Lead
2. The incumbent will work on normal workdays from Monday to Friday, subjected to OGP’s requirements
3. R&M OGP produces 800 MMscf/d of Gas and 17kboe/d of NGL at high Annual Operating Expenditure (OPEX). Gas production is expected to start in 2026 and will be piped to the neighboring Petronas Liquified Natural Gas complex. R&M fields are situated approximately 220km off the coast of Bintulu. The project comprises a remotely operated offshore platform and onshore gas plant, with infrastructure that includes one of the longest sour wet gas offshore pipelines in the world stretching more than 200km. R&M will be mainly powered by renewable energy; utilizing solar power offshore and hydroelectric power onshore.
Accountabilities
Executes accountabilities, but not limited to below, which may be included as and when required to ensure successful ORA processes and OPERATE phase of R&M OGP:-
• Relentless pursuit of Goal zero target with no harm to people (Personal Safety) and no Leak (Process Safety).
• Support as Project Interface Engineer on Managed Threat Opportunities (MTO) initiatives deriving from project punch closure or new initiative as part of MTO
o Assist in identifying, tracking, and managing MTOs throughout the project lifecycle.
o Coordinate with engineering and execution teams to ensure MTOs are addressed promptly.
o Support risk mitigation strategies and follow-up actions related to MTOs
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Work closely with PCP Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and Operations teams.
o Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
o Build foundational knowledge in project engineering and execution practices.
o Develop communication and coordination skills across disciplines.
• Field Improvement Projects (FIP) Execution
o Assist in planning and executing FIP projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
o Coordinate with contractors and stakeholder to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
o Support procurement, logistics, and contractor management for FIP execution.
o Monitor progress and escalate issues to the TA MM Lead as needed.
• Project Reporting & Documentation
o Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, meeting minutes, and technical records.
o Support project reviews and presentations for stakeholders.
o Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
o Assist in change management processes and ensure traceability of changes.
