About the Role

A digital payments company is seeking a highly experienced Risk Consultant to support its Legal team in a short-term engagement. The sole focus of this role is to design and build a fit-for-purpose Risk & Compliance framework that can be embedded within the Legal function. This is a hands-on, strategic project ideal for someone who has led similar initiatives and can operate independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a Risk & Compliance framework tailored to the Legal team’s needs.
• Create processes, documentation, and tools to support risk identification, assessment, and reporting.
• Ensure the framework aligns with regulatory expectations and internal governance standards.
• Collaborate with the Head of Legal to ensure the framework is practical, scalable, and embedded effectively.
• Provide guidance and recommendations for ongoing ownership and maintenance of the framework post-implementation.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Risk & Compliance, ideally within financial services, fintech, or regulated industries.
• Proven ability to design and implement risk frameworks from scratch.
• Strong understanding of governance, regulatory compliance, and legal risk.
• Highly process-driven, with excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Available to start within 4 weeks and work on a day rate basis.
