An established, Hampshire-based law firm are searching for a sharp, proactive individual ready to take ownership of their risk and compliance function. Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing the firm’s adherence to regulatory frameworks, including legal, data protection, and anti-financial crime standards.
- Designing and refining internal policies to ensure a robust compliance infrastructure.
- Leading risk assessments and internal audits, identifying gaps and implementing action plans.
- Delivering training sessions and practical guidance to teams across the business.
- Supporting client onboarding with AML checks and risk profiling.
- Collaborating with senior leaders to champion a compliance-first culture across all departments.
Key skills/experience required:
- Around 5 years previous experience in a compliance or risk management role within the legal or professional services sector.
- Deep understanding of regulatory bodies and standards (SRA, AML, GDPR, etc.).
- Confident communicator with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear guidance.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
- A self-starter attitude – proactive, curious, and solution-focused.
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
