We are seeking a Research Lab Technician to support our R&D team in the development and optimization of new products and processes. This role will be instrumental in running lab and pilot-scale experiments that enable process scale-up and cost savings initiatives. By taking ownership of hands-on experimental work, the Research Lab Technician will help free up senior scientists’ time, allowing them to focus on project coordination, data analysis, and strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct Lab and Pilot Experiments: Perform laboratory and pilot-scale experiments according to defined quality, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Plan and Prepare Experiments: Select appropriate equipment, plan experiment logistics, and implement safety measures with limited supervision.
- Document and Analyze Results: Accurately document experimental procedures and results, including data analysis and interpretation, to support decision-making and scale-up processes.
- Maintain Laboratory and Equipment: Ensure a safe, organized, and well-maintained work environment. Support the evaluation, purchase, qualification, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Share best practices and develop advanced technical skills to contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience & Skills: Prior experience in a laboratory or pilot plant environment .
- Strong practical skills in handling lab equipment and conducting experiments.
- Ability to follow experimental plans and safety procedures with minimal supervision.
- Good documentation and data analysis skills.
The expected salary range for this role is 63.000,00$ - 77.000,00$, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a bonus and benefits as defined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
