About the Role:

Maverick Power is seeking a motivated and organized R&D Engineering Program Manager to lead cross-functional teams in bringing new electrical power products from concept to market. This role combines project leadership, business acumen, and technical coordination to ensure the successful execution of Maverick Power’s innovation roadmap. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple projects, and collaborates effectively across the engineering, operations, marketing and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
    • Concurrently lead multiple new product development (NPD) projects from concept through launch
    • Facilitate project meetings, track deliverables, and drive accountability across departments
    • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
    • Identify and mitigate project risks to maintain schedule and cost targets
  • Process & Reporting
    • Maintain documentation for project milestones, design reviews, and stage-gate deliverables
    • Communicate project status clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership
    • Develop and maintain project dashboards that summarize progress, risks, and key metrics across multiple initiatives for executive visibility
    • Translate technical project updates into clear business insights and financial impact summaries
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Coordinate between engineering, operations, procurement, and marketing to ensure alignment of project goals
    • Support go-to-market efforts by ensuring product readiness aligns with customer and business needs
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and apply AI-driven automation or digital tools (e.g. Power Automate, Python, Jira integrations, or similar)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or other related fields
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing cross-functional projects, ideally in manufacturing, product development, or technology environments, using a hybrid Stage-Gate-Agile methodology
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Proven ability to manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables
    • Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams
    • Proficiency with project management software and tools (SmartSheet and Jira)

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g. SmartSheet and Jira)
  • Exposure to ERP (Epicor), quote-to-production systems, and engineering systems (SolidWorks, PDM)
  • Experience in the electrical power, manufacturing, or industrial equipment industry

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
