Summary: Research Associate in Process Development involved in executing studies for of synthetic DNA, purification and chromatography and cell culture work. 

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Molecular biological techniques for generating synthetic DNA.
  • Use of purification techniques such as affinity and anion exchange chromatography and filtration-based unit operations. 
  • Buffer preparation.
  • Analytical assays including, but not limited to, pH, conductivity, analyte measurements, and electrophoresis.
  • Tissue culture techniques required for maintaining mammalian cell culture.
  • Performance of general laboratory tasks, including maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable records including database management, batch records, lab notebooks, and all other pertinent documentation.
  • Writing and/or contributing to SOPs, batch records, protocols and reports.
  • Cross training in all process development work being conducted at Landmark Bio.
  • Comply with all environmental health and safety standards.
  • This is a hands-on lab-based position requiring a flexible schedule based on experimental work (some weekend work may be required).

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemical or biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or related discipline with relevant experience
  • Strong team worker who is also independently motivated, detail oriented and possesses good problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of interdisciplinary development team.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills; able to handle confidential information and material appropriately

Qualifications

  • Experience working with DNA.
  • Experience using the Unicorn software as part of the AKTA chromatography system
