Overview
Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Reporting Engineer to support project performance monitoring and reporting.
The role will focus on consolidating project data, analysing performance metrics, and producing structured reports that support effective decision-making across the project lifecycle.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Services Manager, the Reporting Engineer will coordinate closely with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to gather and analyse project data.
The position is responsible for preparing regular project reports and dashboards that track schedule, cost, HSSE, and progress performance while ensuring reporting outputs meet client and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc project reports covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, HSSE, cost, and schedule performance
- Consolidate reporting inputs from multiple disciplines and contractors into unified project reports
- Ensure all reporting outputs comply with project reporting procedures and client requirements
- Gather project progress data from planning schedules, cost control systems, and site teams
- Analyse project performance data to identify trends, risks, and potential deviations
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and project performance KPIs
- Develop dashboards, charts, and visual reporting tools for project leadership and client meetings
- Prepare highlight reports summarising key project achievements, issues, and mitigation actions
- Maintain reporting procedures aligned with the Project Execution Plan
- Ensure all reporting documentation is properly archived within the project document control system
- Coordinate with contractors and project teams to ensure timely submission of reporting inputs
- Support senior project leadership with executive-level reporting and performance analysis
Skills & Experience
- Experience in project reporting and performance monitoring within major engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data
- Experience supporting project controls reporting, KPIs, and performance analysis
- Proficiency in data visualisation and reporting tools
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to deliver accurate reporting in fast-paced project environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- 5–10 years’ experience within energy, EPC, or infrastructure project environments
- Experience supporting project controls or project reporting functions
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and reporting tools such as Power BI
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies is desirable
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
