ArgonFDS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair & Service Technician to support the troubleshooting, repair, and testing of ruggedized electronics and display systems. This role is critical to ensuring that returned products and fielded systems are restored to full functionality in compliance with customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong diagnostic skills, hands-on electronics experience, and a commitment to quality in high-reliability environments.
Scope of Responsibility
Core Objectives
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and functional testing of returned or fielded electronic systems.
- Ensure all service activities meet internal quality standards and customer compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies, cable harnesses, and subassemblies to the component level.
- Load and verify firmware/software on repaired units.
- Perform functional and environmental testing to validate repairs.
- Document repair activities, test results, and failure analysis in accordance with FAA and company procedures.
- Support root cause analysis and communicate recurring failure trends to Engineering and Quality.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP and repair tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and all quality protocols.
- Assist with customer support cases and field return evaluations as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to service processes and product reliability.
Essential Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills in analog/digital electronics and embedded systems.
- Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and cable rework techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree .
- 3–5 years of experience in electronics repair, service, or test environments.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or rugged electronics is highly desirable.
- Enrollment in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Abatement Program may be required.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
