Position Summary
SJI Renewable Energy Ventures is in the process of standing up a capital project execution team. This role will support the team which designs and constructs renewable natural gas facilities. This role will help develop the processes and facilities to manage the efficient flow of information including an Integrated Project Management Information System. This system will manage document control and storage, workflow, procurement, cost, communication, and project control.
SJI Renewable Energy Ventures is seeking a system savvy, creative individual, to lead the rapid formalization and cross functional mapping of required data and workflow in parallel with executing ongoing capital projects. The successful candidate will share a passion for building and for the accuracy of data in an engineering and construction environment. Specific to the REV Operating model, this role plays a lead effort in ensuring construction, LNG, RNG or related efforts are managed through a project pipeline effectively.
Essential Functions:
Develop policies and procedures for effective document management and project engineering.
Collaborates as key contributor in nimble, progressive and dedicated group.
Engages in team planning, scheduling and coordinating detailed phases of engineering and construction work.
Build and maintain data management system which will be utilized for complete project lifecycles.
Support RFQ management
Support internal and external engineering resources
Provides support identifying scope Change Notices, change orders, specifications, and bid evaluations
Actively monitor for, and assist with management of, any cost, schedule, or technical scope changes on a program
Work with Program Management in implementation of change management processes and work with engineering in evaluation and potential incorporation of scope changes on a program
Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements
Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule.
Collaborates as key contributor in nimble, progressive and dedicated team planning, scheduling and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work for RNG facilities.
Assist with planning and coordination in all phases of construction, including pre-Construction (including design phase for design/build projects), Construction, and Closeout
Provide technical support for construction efforts including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods;
Required Skills:
Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work-controlling documents.
Represent company, project and/or department during customer, landowner and project management meetings
Collaborates as key contributor in nimble, progressive and dedicated team planning, scheduling and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work for packaged equipment
Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to project management providing design input regarding process improvement, reliability, and safety
Technically competent understand selected equipment sizing and application with regard to cost, value, application suitability, safety, and reliability
Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications
Reviews/analyzes bids to make technical recommendations on vendor offerings
Reviews and checks work of design draftsman and vendors
Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
Compiles quality data, establishes regular communication of data, and facilitates action plans to ensure continuous improvement of quality, cost, and delivery
Standards Process Piping Design, Materials, Fabrication and Specifications leading to construction documents
Approach all designs with safety as top priorities
Preparation of instruction and operation manuals
Develops conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals
Performs other duties as assigned
Experience in Solidworks
Knowledge and understanding of Fluid flow principles, Thermal Systems, Mechanical design & Structural analysis
Understanding of ASME, AISC, OSHA, AGA & ASTM standards
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Skills:
Experience setting up and administering a PMIS for capital group for owner organization.
Data Management and Document control
Gas processing using membrane
Pressure swing adsorption
Solvent adsorption processes
Flare and thermal oxidizers and/ or Packaged equipment
Engineering workflow management
Change control
Construction technical support/RFI management
Experience with design and construction of industrial process facilities
Field engineering or craft experience
Required Background:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) with minimum of 12 years’ experience in Mechanical or Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent in related field.
Five + years related experience in landfill gas to energy, High BTU/ RNG, oil refinery, Mechanical Industry, chemical process, gas process and/or technical experience

Compensation Range:
$111,000 - 177,600
We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
