I. Job Summary

Responsible for management and operation of the landfill gas processing/delivery facility and maintenance/operation of the gas collection and control system (GCCS).

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and environmental compliance.

Responsible for all housekeeping and landscaping duties to maintain WMRE standards of building and grounds appearance. This includes all janitorial duties to be completed by plant manager.

Responsible for administering WMRE operations policies.

Responsible for repairs and maintenance on all facility gas processing plant equipment. Any 3rd party repairs must be approved by WMRE Operations Manager in advance.

Communicates timely with operations managers regarding plant/wellfield status in addition to weekly reporting of related issues.

Notifies WMRE immediately of any adverse conditions affecting plant output

Communicates regularly with Area Gas Operations Mgr (AGOM), Site Manager and site Gas Coordinator regarding scheduled plant maintenance, compliance or well-field issues.

Must be available 24/7/365 for plant emergencies or have suitable backup.

Responsible for all administrative duties including proper reporting of plant output and performance in a timely manner consistent with WMRE reporting guidelines. This includes P-Card reconciliation, PO Management, scheduling of maintenance, health and safety updates and hazardous waste inspections and documentation.

Schedule and conduct plant tours as necessary to support good community relations

Properly operate and maintain GCCS in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize performance.

GCCS operation and maintenance including:

Enter/upload wellfield monitoring and other data into various computer systems

Satisfactory completion of the WM Landfill Gas Technician I Certification Training.

Develop basic understanding of environmental regulations related to GCCS operations.

Develop basic understanding of job related health and safety issues and follow all health and safety related procedures.

Preventative maintenance

Wellfield monitoring and adjustment

Liquid level measurement in landfill gas extraction wells

Pneumatic and/or electric pump maintenance where required

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe fusion

Blower / flare operations and maintenance

Condensate management system maintenance

Monitor landfill gas migration probes where required

Surface Emissions Monitoring (SEM) where required

Opacity (visible stack emissions) monitoring

Develop basic understanding of landfill gas instrumentation and wellfield tuning activities.

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D required - college degree (Minimum AA degree)

5 years experience diagnosing and repairing compressor and refrigeration systems ().

Must be able to diagnose and repair DC circuits 12/24 volts.

Basic knowledge of 120/240/480 3ph volt AC circuits.

Understand concepts of 4160 volt circuits

Must be familiar with basic principles of building maintenance.

Landfill or landfill gas related experience or education

Environmental monitoring experience or education

Post high school higher education

Industrial instrumentation related experience

Blower and/or flare maintenance experience

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Must have valid driver's license

:

Opacity or visible stack emissions monitoring certification

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe fusion certification

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.

Must be able to travel up to 25% with overnight stays.

Basic competency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.

18 years of or greater

Basic knowledge of landfill related environmental regulations

Good written and verbal communication skills
