The role

We are seeking a strategic and technical Reliability Engineer to ensure that products and components supplied to OEM customers meet or exceed requirements for safety, durability, and long-term performance. This role applies reliability engineering principles, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving techniques to improve product robustness, reduce warranty costs, and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards.

This role requires close partnership with teams across the organization to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification, bridging the gap between creativity and practical execution

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the corporate admin in maintaining and executing the company standard with our CMMS and reliability strategies.
  • Support operations with layered process audits (LPA’s) to our company standards to ensure plants are following company standards.
  • Support new program introduction, ongoing production, and field performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with plant engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and controls engineering. Taking lessons learned from plant engineering to see how it enhances our standards.
  • Deliver technical expertise in reliability methods, testing, and data analysis to all VAA plants and new business VAA’s. Ability to travel to plant and vendor locations supporting plant initiatives and new launches (est. 50% to 75%).
  • Contribute to risk management, validation, and continuous improvement activities across the product lifecycle, and collaborate with vendors to ensure they follow our company standards in Reliability.
  • Review and provide input to MFMEA (Machine) and PFMEA (Process) for new designs and processes to ensure they fit our company standards.
  • Ensure validation and verification activities meet customer and regulatory requirements with new business integrators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance methods (Mean Time to Repair, Mean Time Before Failure), accelerate validation, and reduce costs.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and their reliability, maintenance, and mechanical best practices. Apply innovative solutions to enhance reliability engineering capabilities, driving continuous improvement and technological advancement.
  • Support in development and refining maintenance strategies
  • Provide technical guidance and training to other team members.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in reliability, mechanical, or test engineering within the automotive industry.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with CMMS database and maintaining the organized structure of asset management.
  • 5 - 8 years of previous maintenance and mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Understanding safety best practices within a manufacturing environment (lock-out tag-out)
  • Proven knowledge of Root Cause Analysis RCA) and track record of continuous improvement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification : ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL)
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of working independently or in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management capabilities
