POSITION TITLE Reliability Consultant-Oil & Gas

POSITION SUMMARY
The Reliability Consultant - Oil & Gas - will work with the customer’s personnel to maximize fluid analysis’ benefits by providing communication when data indicates maintenance action is warranted. This includes notification for preventing failures, contamination indicating oil and filter changes are required to prevent equipment damage and evaluating data for the purpose of extending the life of customers’ equipment. This position performs assessments, monitors trending, consulting services, sales support, customer field support and training for public and private sessions. Services are tracked by billable hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design and perform assessments regarding a quality fluid analysis program, at customer sites , based on customer needs and world class fluid analysis practices.
- Perform on-site consulting services based on customer needs.
- Perform customer assistance in Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Develop and present training on practical fluid analysis and contamination control.
- Develop and monitor continual process improvements.
- Assist in developing annual budget requirements for the department.
- Prepare and issue written correspondence, including progress reports and meeting agendas.
- Ensure timely follow-up to commitments.
- Other duties as required by management.
SKILLS
Mandatory Requirements
- Wearing of personal protection equipment as required
- Work in environments where there may be exposure to petroleum products, fumes, dust, odors and mists .
- Ability to understand and train in all products and services provided by Polaris Laboratories LLC .
- Ability to understand fluid analysis testing results.
- Ability to train how to understand testing results.
- Ability to understand and prescribe appropriate testing methods.
- Ability to understand, train and install sampling devices offered by POLARIS.
- Ability to work in and foster a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with customers at all levels.
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand multiple disciplines of laboratory procedures, advanced lubrication, fundamentals, contamination control, engineering principals, maintenance principals, filtration principals.
- Display ability to grasp and implement strategic concepts.
- Understanding of statistical analysis (basic).
- Proficient with computers, software usage, and other data capturing technologies, to include Power BI.
- Be able to travel extensively as required by POLARIS.
EDUCATION
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- Four years’ experience in a related field such as lubrication or maintenance.
- Must be STLE CLS or OMA 1 Certified or be able to obtain CLS or OMA Certification within 1 year from employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires remote travel and the ability to work around and on heavy equipment as required.
