SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
Douglas Emmett is seeking a Regional Engineer responsible for the proper operation
and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety equipment
of a Region of Class A high rise office buildings. The Regional Engineer is also
responsible for the daily supervision and training of building engineers and maintenance
staff.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Oversees the maintenance, operation, and inspection of all building systems
including fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical in keeping with industry and
DE practices.
Work with Director of Engineering to direct, supervise, and train engineering and
janitorial staff.
Responsible for the management of the contract services engineering budget,
including forecasting, and for the competent and professional operation of all plant
equipment and efficient utility consumption
Works with Property Managers to maintain records for each building within the
Region. This includes: Engineering logbook, chemical treatment logs, emergency
Shutoff drawings, elevator contact maintenance, and emergency contact list.
Ensures required building related permits and certificates are current and accurate.
Assists Chief Engineers with the monitoring of operating contracts including: Fire
Signaling System, water treatment, elevators, uniforms, window cleaning, EMS
systems, landscaping, and pest control.
Responsible for the timely completion of all annual building services including
Regulation 4 testing.
Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, SCAQMD regulations, and hazardous
chemicals program.
Special projects as assigned by Director of Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of building engineering experience that includes experience in personnel
supervision (Class A office )
Demonstrated competence in commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire life safety,
and building maintenance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgment to formulate and implement solutions
Maintain professional demeanor and excellent customer service when interacting
with building management, tenants and vendors.
Projects a professional image by meeting Douglas Emmett dress code standards.
Can perform the essential physical requirements of the position with or without
reasonable accommodation.
