Operating as a close-knit team, they pride themselves on creating a supportive working culture and delivering projects with care, precision, and professionalism.\n\nYour new role\n\nOur client is seeking a Refurbishment Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester-based team.

This role will be key to ensuring the financial success of a variety of refurbishment projects, supporting both pre- and post-contract stages. You'll work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver commercially sound outcomes while maintaining strong professional relationships.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for refurbishment projects.\n\nManaging sub-contractor procurement, tendering, and contract negotiations.\n\nOverseeing project valuations, variations, and final accounts.\n\nMonitoring project expenditure, forecasts, and cash flow.\n\nProviding cost advice throughout project lifecycles.\n\nLiaising closely with site teams, project managers, and clients.\n\nEnsuring compliance with contractual and commercial obligations.\n\nSupporting the delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets.\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within refurbishment or construction projects.\n\nStrong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management.\n\nExcellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.\n\nStrong organisational and communication abilities.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nA degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline ( but not essential).\n\nA proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nA competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus benefits package.\n\nOpportunity to work on a variety of refurbishment and development projects.\n\nA supportive and collaborative working environment where your contribution is valued.\n\nGenuine career progression opportunities as the business continues to grow.\n\nThe chance to be part of a company making a positive impact through high-quality construction and refurbishment work.\n\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris. \n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
