Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer with a strong technical background who is passionate about building safety sensor products that customers love in industrial automation sector. With a legacy spanning over 30 years, we manufacture a wide range of products. You will join a dynamic environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.
Skills:
- Solid background in analog and digital design, including component selection, schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Develop custom current sensing solutions from magnetic core selection, winding geometry, to interfacing with electronic circuits.
- Embedded system development. C or C + + .
- Product prototyping (fabrication, soldering, and assembly), integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Design and development of products for ease of test, assembly, and manufacture.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic environment with little supervision.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and/or control products a plus.
- Experience with design, testing, or submission of products for certification of compliance (UL, CSA, CE) a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, qualify and release designs to satisfy marketing requirements.
- Work in a team environment with internal and external engineers (of varied disciplines) as well as management and manufacturing personnel to sustain existing products and deliver new products to market.
- Applies electrical and electronic engineering principles and concepts to evaluate new designs for function and performance.
- Work with outside suppliers, PCBA Designers, Board Fab Houses, PCBA assemblers and contract manufacturers for development.
- Initiate, execute & review product changes via Company's ECO process.
- Develop assembly instructions, test methods, PCBA test procedures and create test and qualification reports for new product introduction.
- Provide continuous support for manufacturing and resolve complex electrical/electronic manufacturing issues.
- Enhance existing products, upgrade legacy products.
- Reports to Director of Engineering.
Education/experience/skills requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience
- Extensive knowledge in Salesforce, Concur, MS Office and ERP.
- Quick learning curve on understanding technical aspect of products, new processes, platforms and ERP.
- Self-starter with ability to identify and resolve problems independently.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence others.
