Quantity Surveyor A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within Integrated Utility Services and we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This role can be based around the Stockton or Wakefield area. We’re growing! We’re continuing to expand our teams as we take on new large-scale projects and framework awards. With opportunities across multiple areas of the business, there’s lots of opportunity for you to grow with us! A Quantity Surveyor is required to control the commercial functions within the IUS business. The successful candidate will support the business and take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial process for multiple projects across our workstreams; further enhance the business’ commercial strength and margins by improving commercial reporting accuracy, cash flow, reducing risk in change control and WIP. Along with a competitive salary between £43,667 and £60,212 we also offer great benefits such as; 25 days holiday plus bank holidays which increases with service Enrolment into our enhanced pension scheme Personal transport provision Career development & progression with opportunity to increase your salary Ability to earn professional qualifications 24/7 access to Mental health support & counselling services Eye care vouchers with funding towards glasses Contractual sick pay Long service recognition Paid volunteering opportunities within the community Key Responsibilities Commercial reporting including forecasting and wider project performance Work alongside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts Manage client interface Risk management including change control and WIP management Contract Administration Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times Payment and debt management Post project appraisals and feedback loop to Tendering & Estimating team Attend internal and external (Client) meetings Final account compilation / submission Key Competencies Teamwork Verbal and written communication skills Negotiation skills Organised and efficient Customer service skills Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Essential Qualifications & Experience HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential Experience in the construction industry is essential Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential Ability to understand and respond to contract issues MRICS or MCIOB is desirable Experience in the civil engineering / utility construction industry with a complete understanding of gas, water and electric distribution infrastructures is desirable Contractual knowledge – NEC knowledge is desirable Excellent IT skills – with heavy focus on excel Applicants are considered on the basis of their suitability for the post irrespective of , marital status, , re-assignment, , or , in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
