Location\n

Nationwide – Work location in Tebay, Cumbria, with some remote working options available.

Hours\n

Permanent, Full-time – 45 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.

Salary\n

£40,000 – £45,000 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits. Please note, we are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Your Responsibilities\n

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of the commercial management of a major civil engineering project. Your role will be crucial in controlling costs, maximizing value, and ensuring strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Support the commercial management of contracts and work packages to achieve project objectives and maximize profitability.
  • \n

  • Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, compensation events, claims, and commercial reports in line with contractual requirements.
  • \n

  • Monitor project costs, forecast financial performance, and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
  • \n

  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities, helping to mitigate issues and improve project outcomes.
  • \n

  • Manage measurements, valuations, and cash flow processes to maintain effective commercial control throughout project delivery.
  • \n

What We’re Looking For\n

This role could be a perfect fit for you if you:

  • Hold a degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • \n

  • Have a full UK driving licence and enjoy working in a site-based construction environment.
  • \n

  • Bring experience from a commercial, quantity surveying, or cost management role within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
  • \n

  • Are confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to analyze and manage commercial data.
  • \n

  • Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
