Job Description
Our Water contractor client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to support new reservoir projects on Anglian Water.\n\nThey are working with Anglian Water on their new Reservoirs Programme to support progression of 2 huge new reservoirs through DCO (Govt Approval). They are primarily acting as Anglian Water's Principal Contractor under CDM for the extensive site investigation works and have fantastic opportunities for individuals looking to join a growing delivery team, working predominantly across Sleaford (Lincolnshire), Chatteris (Cambridgeshire) and Peterborough.\n\nThis role will report directly into a Commercial Manager, whilst working closely with the operational leaders within the framework. They are looking for someone who is highly driven and proactive, dynamic and who is capable to deliver successful commercial outcomes.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nThe role will involve all aspects of commercial activities from the initial tender to final account and close out, seeking to enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality.
A high standard of collaboration skills are required in order to support the end client Anglian Water.\n\nThe role will involve all aspects of commercial activities from the initial tender to final account and close out, seeking to enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality.\nA high standard of collaboration skills required in order to support the end client Anglian Water\nPreparation of proposals relating to the works carried out under the Anglian Water SRO Framework\nManagement and agreement of compensation events and change on the projects\nProvide support to the Commercial Manager and liaise with Customer's Commercial Team\nDevelop the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence\nEnsure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Commercial Manager\nPrepare monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed within deadlines\nProduce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports\nEnsure registers of variations, delay, extension of time applications and claims are contemporaneous and maintained\nProduce records of pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary\nReview value management and advise on Risk management\nPrepare, review and complete of sub-contract documentation\nEnsure all efficiencies are reflected in the reporting tools provided, to the Client's timeline.\nProvide reports on actual costs vs. estimate & identifying underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions, in particular highlight, challenge & resolve variance to latest plans. \n\nSkills/experience/qualifications\n\nIdeally degree qualified (RICS accredited)\nRICS or CICES membership or working toward\nA creative and innovative approach to problem-solving\nIncreasing knowledge of a variety of forms & options of contracts including NEC\nExperience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions \nExperience of developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies\nProven negotiation and team-working skills\nStrong analytical skills \nDemonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge\nExperience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives\nPost-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement \nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nFull UK Driving licence\nOpen to hybrid workingBenefits\n\nSalary £40-50k depending on experience\nCar/car allowance depending on candidate situation\nHybrid working - work across Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\nGenerous company pension\nProgression /professional development opportunities
