Quantity Surveyor – Residential Groundworks\n\nLocation: Nottingham\nFull-Time | Permanent\nSalary: Competitive (DOE) + Company Benefits\n\nAbout the Company\n\nOur client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor, delivering high-quality civil engineering and groundwork packages to major housebuilders across the region. Known for their commitment to safety, quality, and efficient project delivery, they have built long-standing partnerships within the housing sector.\n\nThey are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of multiple residential developments.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor with experience in residential groundworks to join a reputable and growing contractor. The successful candidate will oversee all commercial and financial aspects of groundworks projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficiency from tender to final account.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.\n- Conduct take-offs and prepare accurate tender submissions.\n- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.\n- Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients.\n- Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.\n- Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial queries.\n- Ensure all documentation and records are maintained in line with company standards.\n- Support commercial reporting and contribute to monthly financial reviews.\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\n- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or residential civil engineering sector.\n- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.\n- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and estimating/costing systems.\n- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.\n- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nRelevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree ).\n\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to visit sites as required.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary \n\nCompany car or car allowance (if applicable).\n\nPension scheme and other benefits.\n\nLong-term career opportunities within a respected and expanding contractor
