Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team, a leading main contractor specialising in commercial Design and Build projects across the North East of England. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from initial tender through to final account.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tender & Procurement: Prepare and issue tender documents and contractor packages.
Cost Management: Manage project budgets, including forecasting and cost control.
Valuations: Prepare and submit monthly valuations to clients.
Subcontractor Management: Procure, negotiate, and manage sub-contractor accounts.
Change Management: Value and negotiate variations and compensation events.
Reporting: Produce regular financial reports for senior management.
Final Accounts: Settle final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial construction sector, preferably with a main contractor.
Strong understanding of Design and Build contracts.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and IT skills.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction-related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Based in or willing to work in the North East region.
