Quantity Surveyor (MEP OR Electrical I&C)

For one of our key clients we are seeking several Quantity Surveyors for lucrative long term consultancy contracts in Northern Sweden. 4 weeks on 1 week off, accommodation covered by the client as well as ground transportation to and from site.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) must have previous exp for handling the scope in Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) to support the commercial management of large-scale industrial projects (e.g., oil & gas, power, petrochemical, manufacturing, utilities, or heavy infrastructure). The successful candidate will be responsible for cost planning, measurement, valuation, and contract administration related to E&I works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and validate Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and cost estimates for electrical and I&C packages.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations, analyze variances, and assist in procurement strategies.
  • Monitor project budgets, ensure accurate cost forecasting, and report deviations for E&I scope.
  • Manage and assess change orders, claims, and variations related to electrical and I&C works.
  • Perform cost control throughout project lifecycle, from pre-contract to post-contract stages.
  • Review and approve progress payment applications, ensuring alignment with contract terms.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to ensure scope compliance.
  • Conduct site visits for progress verificationmeasurement, and valuation of completed works.
  • Maintain up-to-date cost records, and assist in the preparation of financial statements and final accounts.
  • Support contractual correspondence and documentation in alignment with FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of contract.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience as a QS or similar role in industrial projects.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial termsprocurement, and claims management.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Direct QS involvement in EPC or EPCM projects in sectors like energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Experience with international standards and working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Understanding of risk management and value engineering principles.
