Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – Central London\n\n Salary: Intermediate QS £45,000–£55,000 DOE | Senior QS £60,000–£75,000 DOE\n Location: Central London (projects across London & South East)\n Contract: Permanent – Full Time\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are a well-established and respected pipework contractor with a strong track record in the mechanical sector, delivering projects across London and the South East. Known for our expertise in delivering high-quality mechanical installations, we work on a range of schemes including commercial developments, residential projects, and large-scale refurbishments.\n\nAs the business continues to grow, we are seeking both an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic, collaborative environment where your input will directly contribute to the success of complex and technically challenging projects.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the financial management and delivery of mechanical projects.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring value for money, accurate reporting, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.\n\n * \n\n Lead on the procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages, negotiating best value.\n\n * \n\n Manage valuations, variations, interim payments, and final accounts.\n\n * \n\n Provide regular and accurate financial reports to senior management.\n\n * \n\n Ensure compliance with company and contractual standards on all commercial activities.\n\n * \n\n Work closely with project teams to support the successful delivery of mechanical services.\n\n * \n\n Conduct site visits and liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain effective communication.\n\n * \n\n Drive cost efficiency and risk management across projects.\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor (Intermediate) OR significant experience as a QS/Senior QS within the M&E/Mechanical contracting sector.\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT/NEC).\n\n * \n\n Proven ability in cost control, commercial reporting, and procurement.\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.\n\n * \n\n Proficiency with relevant contract and costing software.\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits across London and the South East.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary based on experience (£45k–£55k Intermediate, £60k–£75k Senior).\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work on prestigious projects in Central London.\n\n * \n\n Career progression within a growing contractor.\n\n * \n\n A collaborative team culture that values input at all levels.\n\n * \n\n Additional company benefits package
