Quantity Surveyor\n\nWe're supporting a leading contractor operating in the power and utilities space as they look to strengthen their commercial team with an Quantity Surveyor. This is a permanent opportunity to take a hands-on commercial role on a high-profile infrastructure scheme in London involving a significant cable route installation.\n\nYou'll play a central part in safeguarding commercial performance across the project, working closely with delivery, engineering and supply-chain partners while operating under NEC contracts.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of the project, ensuring strong cost control, accurate reporting and effective contractual administration throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nKey duties will include:\n\nCommercial management of NEC3/NEC4 contracts from commencement through to final account\nOversight of subcontractor packages, including valuations, change management, claims and negotiations\nPreparation and presentation of cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates to project leadership\nActive management of compensation events, early warnings and change processes\nSupporting and mentoring other commercial team members on the project\nWorking closely with operational teams to align commercial performance with programme and delivery\nEnsuring records, audit trails and commercial documentation remain accurate and compliant\nDeveloping strong, collaborative relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors\nMaintaining a visible site presence to support project and stakeholder requirements\n\nAbout You\n\nYou'll be a commercially confident Quantity Surveyor with experience working on complex civil or electrical infrastructure projects, ideally within utilities or power-related environments.\n\nEssential experience:\n\nProven background in Quantity Surveying on live projects\nCivil and/or electrical project experience\nStrong working knowledge of NEC contracts\nDegree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline\nGood working capability in Excel (including pivot tables and lookups)Desirable:\n\nChartered status or actively working towards professional accreditation (e.g. RICS)\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\nCompetitive salary\nPension contribution up to 8%\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\nHybrid or electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme\nPrivate medical cover\nEmployee assistance programme (24/7)\nFlexible benefits including gym membership, dental insurance, travel insurance and cycle-to-work\nDedicated personal development and career progression support
