Quantity Surveyor in Heathrow
Job DescriptionAn opportunity exists for a Quantity Surveyor for a tier-one infrastructure contractor delivering critical asset replacement and major infrastructure schemes at London Heathrow Airport. This role offers a long-term contract pipeline, embedded within a fast-paced, live aviation environment involving complex structural demolition, major civils, and specialized logistics. Duties would include - Taking full ownership of the day-to-day administration of NEC4 Option C (Target Cost) contracts, ensuring strict compliance with all contractual timescales and clauses. Oversee end-to-end procurement, commercial management, and monthly valuations for high-value, specialized sub-contract packages. Drafting, submitting, and negotiating Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs). Preparing detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost-to-complete forecasting. Interrogate subcontractor applications and costs, to minimize risks Maintain the NEC Risk Register, monitoring labour productivity, supply chain compliance, and operational "dead time" unique to high-security aviation environments. Required for this post include - BSc Quantity Surveyor or similar. MRICS advantageous. Expert working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 forms of contract Proven track record as a QS within heavy civil engineering, major infrastructure, or complex demolition projects for a tier on UK civils contractor. Prior aviation or airport framework experience is highly advantageous but not mandatory. Successfully managed sub-contractor accounts and navigating complex variations.
