A well-established, family-run groundworks and civil engineering company based in Kent is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team. Operating since 2007 with a turnover of £4 million, the company delivers projects ranging from £10k to £2 million and has built a strong reputation for quality and adaptability.



As part of their next phase of growth, they are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on QS who can contribute across multiple areas of the business.



About the Role:



The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the financial and contractual aspects of various projects, with additional involvement in estimating, client visits, and business development. This is a varied, dynamic role suited to someone who thrives in a flexible environment and enjoys building relationships and seeing a project through from pricing to final account.



Key Responsibilities:



* Manage commercial aspects of groundworks and civils projects



* Prepare valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts



* Handle subcontractor and supplier packages



* Produce estimates and support tendering processes



* Visit clients to discuss projects, build relationships, and support ongoing work



* Contribute to business growth through networking and identifying new opportunities



Candidate Requirements:



* Experienced Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or civil engineering



* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contracts



* Solid estimating and pricing skills



* Confident with client-facing responsibilities and relationship-building



* Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently



* Happy to work from home, with regular site and client visits
