Overview



A leading civil and groundwork contractor based in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. With a confirmed and fully scheduled programme of work already secured for 2026, this is a rare opportunity to step into a stable, long-term role within a busy and respected contractor.



Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial and contractual elements of ongoing and upcoming civil and groundwork projects

Prepare valuations, variations, cost reports and final accounts

Conduct site measurements and support cost control procedures

Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting

Liaise with subcontractors, clients and internal departments

Ensure compliance with contract terms and commercial governance

Participate in tender reviews, procurement and budget planning Requirements

Previous experience in civil engineering or groundworks is essential

Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor; Senior level desirable but not required

Strong knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts

Ability to manage multiple live projects

Excellent negotiation, communication and reporting skills

Confident working both independently and within a commercial team What’s on Offer
