Quantity Surveyor\n\nAnnual Salary: £50,000-£60,000\nLocation: Gateshead\nJob Type: PermanentDay-to-day of the role:\n\nPrepare accurate cost plans and budgets for development projects.\nProduce monthly financial reports to track project spend and ensure financial efficiency.\nManage final accounts and liaise with finance teams to maintain budget control.\nAnalyse historic project data to improve future cost accuracy and project forecasting.\nLead tendering and procurement processes across projects, ensuring competitive and fair contractor selection.\nProvide commercial support to project teams on contracts, valuations, variations, and final accounts, ensuring all financial aspects are handled efficiently.Required Skills & Qualifications:\n\nProven experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.\nStrong knowledge of JCT contracts and construction specifications.\nConfident in conducting contractor negotiations and managing complex contracts.\nGood awareness of health and safety regulations in the construction sector.\nStrong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to manage budgets and costs effectively.\nExcellent communication skills, capable of liaising with various stakeholders.\nUnderstanding of related disciplines such as project management, building surveying, or architecture.Qualifications & Experience:\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.\nProfessional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.\nExtensive experience with contract and cost management.\nKnowledge of valuations, procurement, and estimating.\nBackground in commercial construction projects, with industry-specific experience being highly beneficial.Benefits:\n\nCompany car.\n25 days holiday rising with length of service plus bank holidays.\nOpportunities for professional development and career advancement.To apply for this Quantity Surveyor position, please submit your CV detailing your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role
