With a proud history of award-winning work and a secure pipeline of upcoming projects, they continue to innovate and lead in their field.\n\nYour new role\n\nOur client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Manchester. This is a dual-role position, offering the opportunity to oversee both pre- and post-contract stages on fit-out and refurbishment schemes ranging from £1m to £3m in value.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project management, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful cost control and accurate tendering across diverse interior environments.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing accurate and detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial fit-out projects\n\nConducting take-offs, pricing, and cost planning from architectural drawings and specifications\n\nManaging subcontractor enquiries, evaluations, and procurement\n\nOverseeing valuations, variations, interim applications, and final accounts\n\nLiaising with design, production, and installation teams to ensure cost-effective delivery\n\nIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle\n\nSupporting project managers with cost reporting and budget forecasting\n\nAttending client and site meetings as needed across key project phases\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or dual-role in the fit-out/interiors sector\n\nBackground working on fast-paced commercial or education fit-out projects (ideally £1m-£3m range)\n\nStrong understanding of estimating software and Excel\n\nExcellent communication and commercial negotiation skills\n\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently\n\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to attend occasional site visits\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nCompetitive salary of £40,000 to £60,000 depending on experience\n\nCar allowance, annual performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits package\n\nA collaborative and close-knit working environment with modern offices and an in-house showroom\n\nReal career progression opportunities with a secure forward order book\n\nThe chance to be part of high-profile, technically challenging fit-out projects that combine craftsmanship with innovation\n\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris. \n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
