Quantity Surveyor – Enabling Works

Our client is a specialist civil engineering and enabling works contractor delivering high-quality pre-construction, remediation, and groundwork packages across the UK. The company partners with main contractors, developers, and local authorities on projects ranging from brownfield redevelopment and infrastructure improvements to complex enabling schemes for new commercial and residential developments.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple enabling and groundwork projects across the region. You’ll ensure accurate cost control, risk management, and commercial reporting, supporting projects from tender through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial delivery of enabling and groundworks projects from start to finish.
Prepare and manage applications for payment, variations, and valuations.
Carry out monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and maintain accurate forecasting.
Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
Contribute to tender pricing and pre-construction planning.
Ensure all works comply with NEC / JCT contract frameworks.
Provide financial and contractual advice to operational teams.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civils, enabling, or groundwork environments.
Solid understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
Ability to manage multiple live projects concurrently.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills.
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering ().
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
