Quantity Surveyor in EC1

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic construction team delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is a key commercial role responsible for managing costs, contracts, and financial performance from project handover through to final account.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage commercial delivery from project handover through to final account, ensuring effective control of budgets, costs, and progress\nConduct regular site visits, assess progress, value variations, and produce accurate commercial reports\nManage all contractual and commercial obligations, including negotiations, settlements, and payment processes\nProcure, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and supply chain partners\nSupport estimating and bid activities, including strategy development, documentation, and client presentations\nMaintain risk registers and contribute to proactive problem-solving across project teams\nLead and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, providing mentoring and development\nEnsure compliance with Health & Safety standards and company proceduresAbout You\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or civil engineering sector\nStrong understanding of commercial and contractual requirements\nRelevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent industry experience\nExperience with valuations, variations, claims, and financial reporting\nKnowledge of construction methodologies such as M&E, steelwork, concrete, rail, or fire protection advantageous\nStrong analytical, numerical, and communication skills\nCompetent in MS Office and commercial reporting tools\nAbility to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate documentation\nProfessional, proactive approach with the ability to resolve disputes effectivelyWhy Apply:\n\nOpportunity to work on major, high-profile infrastructure projects\nStrong pipeline of secured work across the UK\nCareer development and progression opportunities\nSupportive team environment with mentoring and leadership developmentIf you are a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of challenging and rewarding projects, we would be interested in hearing from you
