Hill McGlynn is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established, forward-thinking main contractor delivering a wide range of new build construction projects across Kent and the South East.
We are currently seeking an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join their Dartford-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong order book and a diverse portfolio spanning education, healthcare, commercial, and residential sectors.
The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for the full project lifecycle – from procurement through to final account – supporting the successful delivery of new build schemes valued between £5m and £25m.
️ Key Responsibilities
* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
* Preparation of cost plans, budgets, and valuations
* Commercial reporting and forecasting
* Managing variations, change control, and final accounts
* Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial targets are met
* Maintaining compliance with contractual terms and procedures
Ideal Candidate
* 3–7 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role
* Proven background with a regional or Tier 1 main contractor
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and new build methodologies
* Excellent communication, negotiation and reporting skills
* Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
* Full UK driving licence
