With a large proportion of repeat business and long-standing client relationships, they operate across a mix of sectors, including retail (notably supermarkets), and public sector frameworks, with circa 15% of work involving MOD and MOJ projects.\n\nWith a and driven team, they foster a collaborative and energetic working environment, encouraging ownership, development, and innovation.\n\nThe Role\n\nDue to continued growth and upcoming project opportunities, our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a QS looking to take ownership of varied projects and contribute to a close-knit and ambitious team.\n\nYou will work closely with the Commercial Manager and liaise with the Bid Director (who leads the estimating function) to support the successful delivery of tenders and projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage all commercial aspects of assigned refurbishment and fast-track projects\n\nSupport cost planning, budgeting, and tendering processes\n\nLiaise with the Bid Director on tenders and ensure accurate cost evaluations\n\nPrepare and review contracts, subcontracts, and procurement documentation\n\nCarry out valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\nMonitor project performance against budgets and provide regular reporting\n\nEnsure compliance with commercial and contractual obligations\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors\n\nIdentify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering\n\nKey Projects\n\nFast-track refurbishments across retail and commercial sectors\n\nFramework and repeat business with MOD and MOJ clients\n\nSupermarket refurbishments and fit-outs\n\nSelectively tendered projects with a focus on quality over volume\n\nCandidate Profile\n\n5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a main contractor environment\n\nExperience in refurbishment and/or fast-track projects \n\nUnderstanding of public sector procurement (MOD/MOJ) beneficial\n\nStrong commercial acumen and attention to detail\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload\n\nProactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team\n\nExcellent communication and negotiation skills\n\nWhy Join?\n\nFlexible salary based on experience (£40K-£55K)\n\nWork in a supportive SME environment with real ownership and visibility\n\nOpportunity to work on diverse and fast-paced projects\n\nCollaborative team with a modern approach and youthful energy\n\nHigh level of repeat business and client trust - quality over quantity
