Quantity Surveyor / Cambridge / £55k to £65k + £6.5k Car Allowance\n\nLocation: Cambridge\nSalary: £55,000 – £65,000 + £6,500 car allowance\nCompany: One of the UK’s fastest growing Main Contractors (secured £500m for 2026 and £400m for 2027)\nProject Value: £30m\nReports to: Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe’re recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s fastest growing main contractors, who have already secured over £500m of work for 2026.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to work on a £30m new build life sciences scheme in Cambridge, supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor from pre-construction through to handover. You’ll gain exposure to all aspects of the commercial process while developing your skills on a flagship project.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\n * \n\n Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing a £30m new build life scienece project\n\n * \n\n Support with cost management, procurement, and subcontractor packages\n\n * \n\n Help prepare and negotiate contracts, valuations, and variations\n\n * \n\n Assist in monthly CVRs, forecasting, and cash flow reporting\n\n * \n\n Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives\n\n * \n\n Ensure accurate documentation and robust cost control\n\n * \n\n Work closely with the Senior QS, Project Manager, clients, and delivery teams\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * \n\n Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor on new build projects\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts (desirable)\n\n * \n\n Exposure to industrial, life science, logistics, or large-scale commercial schemes is an advantage\n\n * \n\n Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills\n\n * \n\n Eager to learn and develop within a high-performing commercial team\n\n * \n\n Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n £55,000 – £65,000 salary (depending on experience)\n\n * \n\n £6,500 car allowance\n\n * \n\n Career progression with one of the UK’s fastest growing main contractors\n\n * \n\n Mentorship from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors and Directors\n\n * \n\n Long-term secured pipeline with £500m for 2026 and £400m for 2027
