The Opportunity
We're working with a specialist roofing and cladding subcontractor who is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit team. The company delivers projects across the commercial, industrial, retail, residential, and leisure sectors and work closely with a number of well-respected main contractors.
This is a great opportunity for a QS with 3–5 years’ experience to take on more responsibility with a dynamic and supportive company. Previous roofing and cladding experience is not essential, as my client are open to candidates from other sectors of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) and ensure compliance with commercial obligations.
- Assess variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
- Lead procurement, subcontractor tendering, and negotiation.
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions.
- Produce commercial forecasts, risk assessments, and monthly reports.
- Liaise with project teams, main contractors, and clients.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ QS experience.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, or related.
- Strong understanding of procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
- Excellent numeracy, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a project team.
