Quantity Surveyor

GEDON Executive is seeking a skilled and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a prominent and expanding construction or consultancy firm in Glasgow, Scotland . This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional ready to take a pivotal role in the vibrant Glasgow market, contributing to the successful delivery of diverse and impactful projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest commercial standards. You'll play a vital role in managing costs, administering contracts, and providing expert financial advice throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Cost Management: Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts from project inception to completion. Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), including the valuation of variations, interim payments, and final accounts. Procurement: Advise on procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation, and evaluate bids. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential commercial risks and opportunities, providing proactive solutions. Reporting: Prepare comprehensive and insightful commercial reports and financial statements for clients and internal stakeholders. Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise effectively with clients, design teams, and contractors, acting as a trusted commercial advisor. What You'll Bring Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry. Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Contractual Knowledge: Solid understanding of standard forms of construction contracts. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CICES) is highly desirable.
