Position Title: Quality & Safety Manager
Reports To: Plant Manager
OVERVIEW:
The 3D printing industry is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing industries in the world today and Polymaker is part of the momentum. Polymaker develops, produces and markets high value materials for 3D printing. Our company is growing rapidly and can be described as , open and energetic.
Polymaker has been active in the US since 2013. We have built up a network of channel partners who serve end-users from all over the United States. Our end-users are hobbyists, professionals and industrial customers who 3D print high quality parts using our filaments.
From our 40,000 SF facility in Missouri City, TX, we currently manage the production and distribution of 3D printing filament for the North America region.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality & Safety Manager with direct experience in ISO 9001 implementation within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate needs to be willing to be hands-on to understand the current production processes and QMS environment as the site works towards accreditation.
The position will lead a team to perform hands-on testing and qualification activities to ensure products meet the highest standards. This role is central to maintaining and improving our quality systems, driving compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
- Lead the deployment, maintenance, and internal auditing of ISO 9001-compliant quality management systems.
- Design, implement, and monitor process control strategies, with a strong emphasis on risk management and corrective action systems.
- Work with overseas quality team to ensure control plan and inspection points for new product introduction for the US mirrors existing plans overseas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, production, and supply chain—to ensure quality requirements are documented, communicated, and met.
- Oversee QMS documentation, including NCRs, CAPAs, and inspection records
- Lead and drive QMS meeting with key stakeholders
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution for quality issues, using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
- Support customer inquiries, audits, visits; acting as the quality point of contact
- Ensure site compliance with OSHA and TCEQ regulations
- Identify, document, and address site safety issues for cross-functional resolution
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years in Quality Management within a manufacturing setting
- Prior experience working in plastics industry
- Experience as a people leader managing a team
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in statistical tools and software (Minitab, R, etc)
- Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- ASQ or Lead Auditor certification desired, but not required
- Ability to speak Mandarin desired, but not required
