A company located in Torrance, CA with over 50 years of proven success and continued growth is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join its team.
JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Manager ensures that the organizational processes – and the goods and services that result - comply with the requirements of standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9100), as well as customer, regulatory, and the organization’s own requirements. Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) activities to ensure compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate quality activities based on customer, company, and quality specification requirements.
Irrespective of other responsibilities, shall have responsibility and authority that includes:
· Lead the company’s problem-solving efforts solving escapes, internal scrap and rework.
· Be the primary point person on all quality related issues with external parties.
· Drive CARs (if applicable) with suppliers as needed.
· Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements.
· Assist in development of audit plans, audit schedules.
· Participate in quality audits (lead a team of quality auditors when needed).
· Identify processes, situations, etc., where organizations are meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
· Assist audits team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to management as needed.
· Assist with follow-up audits as required.
· May be required to develop internal auditing/parameters.
PROCEDURES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
AS1200 Internal Quality Audits using policy and procedure manual: AS9100
QP 1020 Internal Audits using policy and procedure manual: ISO 9001 QMS
Must be able to perform quality representative responsibilities, review quality system for specification requirements, and flow those requirements into in-house quality tasks. Reports directly to the General Manager. Assists and works in conjunction with auditees and other auditors during the course of an internal audit.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
1. Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
2. Assists in formulating a strategic plan.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, unique smells, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and other dangers associated with manufacturing (cutting, deburring, etc.). A safety equipment and safety standards in place to help maintain a safe work environment.
