Quality Manager
Owen Daniels are exclusively working with a long-established and growing manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Quality Manager to take ownership of the company’s quality function. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines managing a small team with active involvement in day-to-day quality tasks, auditing, and driving continuous improvement across production.
The Role:
As Quality Manager, you’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and lead a team of 3. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of both incoming materials and finished products, maintaining compliance with ISO standards, and implementing improvements to reduce waste and increase product consistency.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being actively involved on the shop floor while also taking a strategic view of quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and support a team of 3 quality staff (inspectors/technicians)
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
Conduct internal and supplier audits; prepare for external audits
Hands-on inspection of products and materials using standard measuring equipment
Investigate non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions
Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality issues
Analyse quality data, identify trends, and lead improvement initiatives
Ensure robust documentation, procedures, and control measures are in place
Promote a strong quality culture across the businessSkills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within manufacturing
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, RCA etc.)
Confident carrying out hands-on inspection tasks (using micrometers, calipers, gauges etc.)
Experience in leading a small team
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
